The Team

Linda

Abergele Community Action Director

Linda oversees the Abergele Youth Shed and is responsible for accessing the funding for it.  Linda is a founder member and Trustee of Abergele Community Action which, since 2005, has operated out of an Internet café, IT resource and community hub known as Itaca… in Hesketh House in the centre of Abergele providing free access to computers and the internet and is now home to Abergele District Foodbank and Abergele Community Money Advice.

Even though Linda is not working directly with the young people at the Shed, she is a vital part of the team as without her, nothing would have got off the ground.  She has a passion for young people and wants them to have the very best opportunities and experiences in life.

Jamie

Abergele Youth Shed Manager

Hi All. My name is Jamie and I'm the manager at Abergele Youth Shed my background has been working with young and vulnerable people also I have worked with people who struggle with learning difficulties and mental health. Now at Youth shed we are looking to engage young people in social and community projects to help grow confidence and social conscience. One of the joys of youth shed is the mix personalities and characters we engage with here and look to empower those young people to be confident in who they are which in turn empowers myself and keeps me enthused with the work we do here at Abergele Youth Shed. Always looking forward to meeting new people and adding to our growing group. Thanks to all the support we have and the work done by our amazing team.

Sarah P

Sessional Youth Worker

I'm Sarah, I'm 21 and I've recently finished a degree in Youth Work and Communities in Nottingham. As part of my degree I get to meet different  young people in different settings which has lead me to Abergele Youth Shed.  I have volunteered working with young people since I was 16 as a young leader in my local youth group and  before that I volunteered working with a youth group for under 11's. My favourite thing about working with young people is that no two days are the same. I have always loved working with young people and I am really looking forward to working alongside the young people at the Youth Shed.  On top of that, I love to cook (and by that I mean I love to eat food!), walking along the beach and telling really silly jokes.
